BOC Consult announces the appointment of Steven Pope as a new partner
Düsseldorf, July 2025 - We are delighted to officially announce the appointment of Steven Pope as the newest partner of the BOC Consult advisory team. Steven brings a wealth of experience and expertise that will undoubtedly strengthen our organization.
He is a globally recognised trade development expert and ex Diplomat with nearly 40 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. In the Public Sector he served in the UK at both Operational and Ministerial level as well as a spell with the IMF focusing on structural reforms. He later moved to the DHL Group where he created the award-winning Trade Facilitation Department, (GoTrade).
His experience covers both Trade Development and Compliance at operational and Policy level affording him a unique insight into the development and execution of trade policy and strategy.
Steven will focus on supporting Organizations and Corporations planning to invest in emerging markets. He brings a longstanding and extensive global network with Governments and International Organisations with a strong focus on Africa, Central and Eastern Europe and selected countries in the Americas. His network includes Ministries of Economics and Trade.
With a long history in trade development and compliance, Steven has a strong reputation for integrity making him a trusted advisor. As an expert in his field, he has held several senior roles including chairing the ICC’s Trade & Investment Commission and Co-Chairing the Africa Committee at the OECD’s Emerging Markets Network. He is currently a Senior Fellow at the High-Level Groups in Brussels, a Public Private Independent Think Tank supporting European policy making and a Senior Advisor to the Nextrade Group in the US.
